What the hell is Repo's Drive-in?
We write about movies the way we watch them, entertainment first, filmmaking prowess second. We’re drawn to character-driven stories, especially when they delve into the moral ambiguity beneath the surface of a genre film. What's a genre film? It's a mix of horror, sci-fi, superheroes, action, fantasy, and dark, edgy thrillers. We approach every movie on its own terms—with honesty, curiosity, and a deep respect for what it’s trying to say.
Created by Repo Jack, a Gen X dude who was fortunate to grow up in the 1970s and 1980s. RepoJack was the Gamer Tag he created for Xbox 20 years ago so that he could play Halo with his seven-year-old son. Think Repo Man meets F. Paul Wilson’s Repairman Jack.
Repo’s been drawn to the dark side ever since his Catholic mom handed him The Exorcist in 1978 to get him to stop reading Iron Man comics. After that scared the bejesus out of him, he was scarred for life by Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot, George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, and the coup de grace, John Carpenter’s The Thing. Those books and movies profoundly impacted his world, solidifying his love for horror, sci-fi, and dark thrillers.
Repo’s been reviewing movies on Letterboxd for years, but that platform has its limitations. You can’t post anything that isn’t a review, and it doesn’t include TV, a medium that is filled with dark and edgy goodness.
Here, we’ll share our favorite reviews and start adding content that we hope you find interesting.
